While working on a short story about Albert Einstein as a child, I added a sentence about a green house and a fish.  I doubt anyone that reads that story will understand the reference, but supposedly (it’s the internet, who knows really?) Einstein came up with a problem that only five percent of the population can solve.

The problem has to do with five people in five different colored houses (thus the green house reference) and five different pets.  The question is: which person owned the fish?  If you’re interested in checking it out, this will walk you through the problem and the solution.

But, why not make it fun and really challenge yourself to solving it before hitting that solve button?  Hint: make a grid showing the five different people and the five different qualities and fill in the grid as you come to learn more about each person (I know this doesn’t make sense but it will when you read the problem).

Let me know if you figured it out on your own or if you had to skip to the end!  🙂
